Welcome to the website for the North East (NE) Member Network of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).
We are Librarians and Information Professionals from the beautiful lands of Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne & Wear, and the area of the former county of Cleveland in North Yorkshire.
CILIP North East Member Network's mission is to:
Set, maintain, monitor and promote standards of excellence in the creation, management, evaluation, exploitation and sharing of information and knowledge resources.
Support the principle of equality of access to information, ideas and works of the imagination which it affirms is fundamental to a thriving economy, democracy, culture and civilisation.
Support, represent and assist in the continuing professional development needs of new, existing and student members of the profession, enabling them to achieve and maintain the highest professional standards.
Be a forum to effectively engage with members, potential members and stakeholders.
